Loon Cabinetry is a custom cabinet shop in Minneapolis, MN. We design, build, finish, and install custom cabinets for kitchens, mudrooms, home offices, and living rooms across the Twin Cities. Every piece is built to your walls and your ceiling height in our Minneapolis shop, not pulled from a catalog. You work with one team from the first measurement to the last hinge adjustment.
Everything below is designed, built, and finished in our own shop, then installed by the same crew that built it.
Perimeter runs, islands, and pantry walls built to your exact layout. Furniture-grade plywood boxes and soft-close hardware come standard.
Lockers, benches, cubbies, and closed storage that hold up to Minnesota winters. Built for boots, backpacks, and everything the kids drag in.
Desks, shelving, and file storage designed around how you actually work, with cable routing and lighting planned in from the start.
Media walls, fireplace surrounds, and window seats that look original to the house. Custom living room cabinets sized to your wall, not close to it.
Walk-in and reach-in pantry storage with adjustable shelving, deep drawers, and glass-door uppers where you want them.
Vanities built for real bathrooms: tight corners, odd plumbing, and the storage a stock unit never quite gets right.
Wood range hood surrounds built to match your cabinetry and sized correctly for your ventilation insert.
Panel-ready refrigerators, wall ovens, and microwave drawers integrated so the appliances read as part of the cabinetry.
Bar cabinets with bottle storage, glass racks, and counter space for entertaining, finished to match the rest of the room.
Loon Cabinetry is a custom cabinet builder in Minneapolis run by me, Alexei Ceban. We are a small crew, and the whole cabinet process stays in house. The person who designs your cabinets is there when they get built, when they get finished, and when they get installed in your home. We don’t outsource the design or hand the install to a subcontractor, so there is no middleman adding cost between us and you.
We build cabinet boxes from furniture-grade plywood instead of particleboard, use natural wood for drawers where we can, and put soft-close hardware on every door and drawer as standard. Finishes are professional grade whether the project is one vanity or a full kitchen. None of that is flashy. It’s just how cabinets should be built, and it’s harder to find than it should be.
To us, it’s not just about making cabinets — it’s about building something meaningful for your home, with care and intention in every piece.

Our friends mentioned them as a high end custom cabinetry company and they didn’t disappoint. Recommend to anyone looking for a custom cabinets shop in Minneapolis and Saint Paul area. ThanksPosted on Google scott a.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We contacted Alexei for a wardrobe project for our bedroom, and the finished product turned out great. Alexei was extremely careful with the installation as well, he was great.
Here’s what sets us apart:
Because our custom made cabinets are designed, built, finished, and installed under one roof, you skip the markup that stacks up when a designer, a cabinet line, and a separate installer each take a cut. The result is custom built cabinetry that fits your home instead of almost fitting it. See recent projects here, or request a quote to talk through yours.

Our shop is in Minneapolis, and most of our projects are too. It depends on the size of the space, the wood species, and the finish. A full custom kitchen is a bigger investment than a single vanity or built-in, and every project is quoted line by line after the design visit. You get a detailed estimate before you sign anything, so the number is never a surprise.
Most projects run several weeks from approved design to installed cabinets, and a full kitchen takes longer than a single vanity or built-in. The timeline goes into the contract before production starts, and we keep you updated while your cabinets are being built in our Minneapolis shop.
Stock cabinets come in fixed sizes, so installers fill the gaps with panels and trim. We build each cabinet to the exact dimensions of your wall, ceiling height, and layout. We also build boxes from furniture-grade plywood with soft-close hardware, which holds up better than the particleboard used in most off-the-shelf lines.
Yes. We design, build, finish, and install everything ourselves. Your cabinets are made in our Minneapolis shop, not ordered from a catalog, and the person who designed them stays involved through installation.
We build and install custom cabinets in Minneapolis and across the Twin Cities west metro, including St Paul, Edina, Minnetonka, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Chanhassen, Brooklyn Park, Rogers, and St Michael.
We are a working cabinet shop rather than a retail showroom, so everything starts with an in-home consultation. That suits custom work better anyway, because your measurements, light, and existing woodwork shape the design. You can see finished projects in our online gallery.
In most cases, yes. Matching stain, grain, and door profiles is one of the more common requests we get in Minneapolis, where many homes still have original millwork from the 1920s through the 1950s. We test finish samples against your existing wood before committing to anything.
